How
to Become a Christian
How to become a Christian and grow in Christ
Confess that you are a sinner, separated from God by your spiritual
condition, and that you need a savior to restore this broken relationship
(Romans 3:10, 3:23; Acts 3:19; Ephesians 2:1).
Acknowledge that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the debt of your
sin and to restore your broken relationship to God (Romans 5:8, 6:23,
10:9; 1 John 4:15).
Receive the new life Christ gives you, as he shares his own resurrected
life with you through the Holy Spirit from now into eternity (John 11:25;
2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20).
Embrace the life that God designed you for, following him as his faithful
disciple (Romans 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 5:15; Colossians 2:6-7).
Share the good news of your salvation with someone significant, who
can encourage you in your life-long walk with God, and continue to grow
in your faith by becoming active in a local church (1 Corinthians 12:12-27;
1 Peter 2:4-10).
“
Creatures are not born with desires unless satisfaction for those desires
exists. A baby feels hunger; well there is such a thing as food. A duckling
wants to swim; well there is such a thing as water. Men feel sexual desire;
well there is such a thing as sex. If I find in myself a desire which
no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation
is that I was made for another world. If none of my earthly pleasures
satisfy it, that does not mean that the universe is a fraud. Probably
earthly pleasures were never meant to satisfy it, but only to arouse
it, to suggest the real thing.” -C. S. Lewis
